Rock, The Way It's Meant To Be Played

If you're like us, then you've grown tired of hearing bands play the same songs they've been beating to death for years. I mean, seriously, how many times can you hear the same songs over and over again before your head wants to explode?

Too many bands lack the drive and desire to be original and creative. Not us!

We play the classic hits as well as the newest and freshest songs that most of the other bands don't play. We keep things fun and exciting by constantly adding new songs to our repertoire so that you never hear the same set list twice. We aim to please, and we take great pride in the time and effort we put into our song choices. The result is a rapidly growing fanbase and crowd after crowd of satisfied bar patrons that leave our shows wanting more.

With an electrifying, high energy live show, Smackwater Jack is not just a bar band in the background. We give you a live concert experience. We play rock music the way it was meant to be played... raw and powerful.

If you're looking for a GREAT TIME and GREAT MUSIC,
look no further than SMACKWATER JACK!

After 5+ years of doing this we decided that we need to take a break for awhile. 'Indefinite Hiatus' is probably the best description, as we're not sure if/when we're going to continue playing. We want to thank everybody who's supported us over the years: the club owners/managers, bartenders, friends & family, other local bands/musicians, the people who drove all over northern NJ to see us play, and that drunk guy who always yelled "Freebird" and "Slayer" at every show. ESPECIALLY the drunk guy who always yelled "Freebird" and "Slayer" at every show! lol We're going to take some time to recharge and if/when the time is right we'll be back. When that happens, you'll be the first to know. In the meantime, keep supporting the local music scene! Thanks for everything.
  • Lineup Change on the Horizon
    March 11, 2014
Over the past several months we've been having discussions about whether or not it's time to shut down the Smackwater Jack machine and call it a day. Ultimately, we decided that rather than stopping altogether, we would dial back the amount of shows we play. Unfortunately, we will be doing this without lead guitarist and co-founder Eric Benson. Since Eric actually wants to play more often than we do now, this new approach isn't ideal for him. He's decided to pursue other opportunities that will allow him to play more often, and we wish him nothing but the best of luck with that! Our plan is to continue on with a new guitarist. In the meantime, we've got a few more shows left with Eric, so come out and get your last taste of Smackwater Jack... original recipe :)
  • The New Year Means Another Anniversary
    January 12, 2014
This weekend marks the 4th anniversary of the very first Smackwater Jack show. Since that show at The Fireside in Denville, we've played almost 200 different songs, 60 shows, and 20 venues. We've also met a ton of awesome people along the way. Thanks for all of your support during the last four years. Now it's time for year number five!!!
